Meet Ivy

     My name is Ivy and my story is not the typical, "I planned my own wedding so I decided to become a wedding planner." My story is made for Reality Television. Make sure you ask me how I became a wedding planner when we meet. The Silk Veil has been in business for over 16 years and we have planned or coordinated over 900 weddings and events.  

      Before becoming a wedding planner, I spent 15 years in Corporate America. Those jobs included working in claims, accounting, inventory and purchasing.  I received my  First Certification,  Certified Bridal Consultant (PF/ABC), in 2008.  My Second Certification is a Certified Wedding Planner (AA-WP which is American Academy of Wedding Professionals) which I received the following year.  I am trained to teach the Wedding Planning Course written by AA-WP (American Academy of Wedding Professionals) In 2010, I formed the first North Carolina Chapter of the National Organization AAWP and  I am their first NC President. I am RASP certified, ServSafe Certified, and  a prior member of  AA-WP (American Academy of Wedding Professionals) and ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants). I have also held the title of Director of Sales and Catering at GCC and have an AA in Business Administration and a  BBA with a major in Business Hospitality and Travel.

I love to laugh and sometimes I have that weird infectious crazy person laugh
I love my job. Period!
Working with Brides and Grooms  with FUN personalities is very very important to me.
I am the mother of 2 Beautiful Girls (young ladies) and they are 14 years apart
I am the grandmother of 1 handsome young man
I am from Baltimore MD-Home of the 2013 Superbowl Champs-GO RAVENS!!!!  I also attended BCCC.
I have a degree in Business/Hospitality
Batman is my superhero of choice (yes, I have batman gear)
LOVE LOVE LOVE Cartoons. If it is Disney, I probably own it (even on VHS) Beauty and The Beast is still my all time favorite Disney movie
Life begins with Coffee and ends with Coke with limes. No questions please lol
Raisinettes with Popcorn = my kryptonite
I love the Twilight Saga and I am Team Edward (Except when Bella and Jacob Kissed), The Godfather Trilogy, and  Rocky IV, R.E.D., and Charlies Angels (with the creepy thin man) and anything Idris Alba is in.  
I was a substitute teacher (stop laughing)
My addiction to lip-gloss is very noticeable
Law and Order Criminal Intent is my Fav, closely followed by Criminal Minds and Bones
I secretly watch Matlock and Murder She Wrote (my dad still laughs about this)
and YES
I change my hairstyle  and glasses often!
